MARQUARDT, Virginia Ruth

(Age 88)

Passed away December 22, 2010 in Spokane; born February 17th, 1922 in Springfield, South Dakota. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Roy C. Marquardt and one son, Kenneth. She is survived by her son David Marquardt Sr.; four grandchildren: David Jr., Christine, Peter, and Michael; four great grandchildren Seth, Peyton, Sammy, and Molly; and several nieces and nephews. Virginia was a Master Gardener, avid fisherman on Lake Coeur d' Alene, and a lover of dogs. She was a breeder of Schnauzers and Wire Haired Fox Terriers. Virginia was also a passionate and loyal Seattle Mariners fan who loved the pure game of baseball. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend will be missed by all who knew her. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 4th at 10:00 A.M. at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane County Humane Society.

since the first time i met her with her son dave, she always asked how my wife and i were doing, i remember dave talking to his mom about the baseball game that day,and how she couldn't wait til the next game in hopes that mariners would win that day. she was so kind,as my wife and i were new to spokane,many years ago. she was our first friend.
