Virgil Harvey Obituary

My condolences . Dr Harvey was a wonderful dr . I first went to him n the 70's . My husband was sent to him from work then I decided to make him my dr until he retired . I missed him so much I didn't know he passed until later in that yr ran into one of his employees. I was so shocked . My condolences to his family & friends RIP

I was so sorry to hear that we had lost Dr Harvey . He was a great Dr & I use to tell all my friends about him & sometimes even sent them to him . He was my second Dr n my life & since he left the for retirement, I have not been able to find a Dr good as him . Sleep n peace Dr Harvey . You are truly missed . Your job was definitely done well on this earth .

My family was very sad to learn of Dr. Harvey's passing today. Old, funny memories immediately started flooding in
. I am one of many who has nothing but praise for Dr. Harvey. I am now 60 and my first visit was at 17. I continued seeing him until I had children and well beyond. What I loved of him was the time he spent with you was all yours. He focused 100% on you, after examanation you knew he was going to see you in his office for a little chit chat. Loved this man. We miss him.

Dr. Harvey has always held a special place in my heart. He was my family doctor as a child, at the office on Sumner. He took care of my entire family, coming to our house on a Sunday when my dad was having a heart attack and in the middle of the night when my brother had a seizure. I was fortunate to be able to work for him when I was in nursing school. He was a great teacher. He was kind to his patients and gave more of himself than any other person I know. I have thought of him often over these 30 years since I left SC. He was a great man. Mrs. Harvey, you are in my thoughts and heart as well.

Dr Harvey was my familys doctor before I was born, up to when he retired. He would take the time to talk to you, he was like a family friend. One time I came in to be checked after being in a car wreck. The electricity in the office had gone out for a short time, Dr Harvey didn't let that bother him, he grabbed a flashlight and resumed his exam. He was a trur professional and will be missed.

Phillip and I are so sorry for your loss. Such a great caregiver and longtime friend.

I was happy to have Dr. Harvey as my flight surgeon for years. I was sorry to learn of his death. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Harvey family. Dr. Harvey was our family Dr for many years. He delivered me in Jan 1964. I am sure my mom a is excited to see him in heaven. Thank you for being a special in my families live, may you RIP Dr Harvey.

Dr. Havery I have fond memories of him. Lived on Redeemer Dr. Always had us kids on his porch waiting on him. Peanut butter sandwiches for stitches, banages and anything else we got. Remember the year he made a tailpipe out if soda cans to get through the flooded road on Remeeder Dr. Just to get to work!! That was dedication. My brother Boyd had him for his doctor for years. He will truly be missed. My condolences to Mrs. Havery, Dane and Sharon.

Dr Virgil Harvey, or as friends called him Buck, was a kind and caring man and a great doctor. I will miss him very much.

So sorry for the families loss. We have fond memories of Dr. Harvey as our childhood doctor. We have thought about him through the years.

My prayers to Mrs. Sandra, Dane, Sharon and the rest of the family for strength at this time. He was always such a compassionate person. While working for him, he taught me so much that I will never forget. May he be flying his plane and dancing the Cha Cha in heaven. God Bless Dr. Harvey and the family.

Dr. Harvey was one of my favorite people in the world. He was my family doctor from childhood. He cared about our family, Betty Phillips Wilkerson, Patricia Grimsley Brinson and Sylvia Gainey Hyman (the Green Girls) and always asked about everyone when one of us came to see him. My mother said the nurse probably hated to see us coming because he visited with us too long in his office. He was interested in people and made a big impact in my life. A couple of years ago, I was really missing him, so I sent him a note listing all the crazy reasons I came to the office and his tolerance:) I really loved him and he will be missed. My condolences to you and your family, Mrs. Harvey.

Dr Harvey was a good doctor and a kind man. He touched so many lives in such a positive way. I was sorry to learn of his passing.

Dr. Harvey was wonderful. Through his good council I was able to quit smoking and drinking.
