Violet Swadley Obituary

Violet R. Swadley, 91, formerly of Needmore and more recently of the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care, McConnellsburg, PA., died Monday, May 7, 2013 at the Center. Born January 7, 1923, in Big Cove Tannery, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Mamie Feagley Seville and widow of Adam Ellis Swadley who died January 12, 1982, and whom she married February 1, 1940 in McConnellsburg. She was a member of the Needmore Bible Church and was retired from the Southern Fulton School District employed with cafeteria services. She attended Ayer Township schools. She is survived by two sons Robert E. Swadley, Big Cove Tannery, and Ray L. Swadley of Needmore, PA, one sister Doris Pittman of McConnellsburg. Also surviving are four grandchildren Kathi Shreve, Ray Lee Swadley, Gene Swadley, and Sherrie Mackey; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson Steven Swadley and three brothers Melvin, Wayne and Delmar Seville. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev. Richard Bernhard will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Fulton County Medical Center, Long Term Care, 214 Peach Orchard Road, McConnellsburg, PA 17233. Online condolences will be accepted at www.grovefh.com
