Viola Sampson Obituary

SAMPSON, Viola Funeral services for the late Mrs. Viola G. Sampson will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Mt. Pisgah AME Church in Ridgeville, SC; the Reverend J.P. Harrison, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Shuler Cemetery in Ridgeville, SC. Mrs. Sampson died Monday, June 10, 2005. She was born in Ridgeville, a daughter of the late Mrs. Rosa Gaddist Jefferson. She grew up in Ridgeville and attended the public schools of Berkeley County. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah AME Church where she served as a member of the choir and the Missionary Department. Mrs. Sampson was married twice. Her first marriage was to Mr. John Henry Pringle, who preceded her in death. Later, she married Mr. Ebbie Sampson. Her survivors include her husband, of the home in Ridgeville, SC; two sons, Robert Pringle of Brooklyn, NY, and Isom (Inez) Pringle of Ridgeville, SC; one brother, Willie Jefferson of Ridgeville, SC; two sisters, Minister Betty Young and Mrs. Lucille Gillard, both of Ridgeville, SC; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. A wake for Mrs. Sampson will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, June 10, at Mt. Pisgah AME Church. Friends may call at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Isom Pringle, 1114 Gaddist Road, Ridgeville, SC, and at SHULER-MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME. Visit our guestbook at www.charleston.net/deaths.
