Vinnie Dupree Obituary

Vinnie Genell Dupree

Summerville - Vinnie Genell "Genell" Dupree, 81, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, with her family by her side.

Born on December 29, 1944, in Alabama to Grady Brannon and Louise Patterson, Genell graduated from Miami Dade High School in 1963. Her life was centered around family, and her greatest joy was raising her two children. She created a home filled with warmth and welcome-a place where friends and neighbors naturally gathered.

Genell's children will forever cherish her as the mother, friend, and confidant every child hopes for. Her thoughtful nature touched many; she was known for sending heartfelt cards to mark life's milestones, offering comfort or celebration with each carefully chosen message.

A woman of deep faith, Genell was an active and vibrant member of her church community. She generously gave her time and energy in service to others, embodying compassion and grace in all she did.

Genell is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Gerald "Jerry" Dupree; her children, Steven Dupree (58) and Kimberly Dupree (47); and three grandchildren: Rebecca "Becca" Dupree (23), Rachel Dupree (21), and Aiken Harrelson (14). She was preceded in death by her sister, Carnell Bass, and her brother, Gurley Harper.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Genell's legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and the lives she touched with kindness. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.

I´m sending my deepest condolences and prayers to the entire family. May God lift and carry you through this time.

Mrs. Dupree was so kind to me during the many years I worked with her daughter Kim. Kim had a Mary Kay party at their house and her mom´s gentle kindness was felt by everyone there. More recently I enjoyed commented on her FB post and vice versa.

She was always the sweetest and kindest soul. The world needs more people like Mrs Dupree!
