Vincent Roy Obituary

Vincent Roy SANFORD, NC - Colonel Vincent Peter Roy, USAF (Ret.) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Colonel Vincent Peter Roy, USAF (Ret.) on November 27, 2024 at the age of 93. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. Vince was born on March 19, 1931 in Connecticut. He was raised by the late Isabelle (Betty) Falco Geragosian and Michael (Buzzy) Geragosian, Sr. He attended Fordham University before transferring to Louisiana State University (LSU) to play football and major in political science. While attending LSU, he met the love of his life, Fran. Vince served his country with distinction with an exceptional career in the United States Air Force (USAF). He served as a fighter pilot in several conflicts, earned numerous accolades including acceptance into the USAF Fighter Weapons School, a scholarship to the University of Oklahoma where he earned his Master's in Business Administration (MBA), and an invitation to attend the National War College. Vince rose to the rank of Colonel as a decorated war hero. His stories of his time in the Air Force were truly captivating. Vince was an avid golfer and enjoyed "friendly" games on the courses nearby. He was an incredibly loyal friend and could be found most Mondays with his ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) group, seeking out the best burger around. He was also dedicated to animal welfare, actively improving the lives of the cats and ducks in the neighborhood. Above all, Vince took immense pride in his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Irene Kennedy Roy, son, Christopher Roy, and son-in-law, John Coons.
