Victoria Haskins Obituary

Victoria "Vickie" Lynn Williams Haskins HINESVILLE, GA - Victoria "Vickie" Lynn Williams Haskins, 60, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Hospice Savannah with family by her side. Vickie was born in Ludowici November 22, 1953 to the late Wendell and Sybil Williams. Vickie graduated with an Associates in Science degree from Northern Virginia Community College. After graduation, took a position at Naval FacilitiesEngineering Command (NAVFAC), where she was awarded commendation for work. She then continued her studies, majoring in Early Childhood Development. This gave grounding as an educator to youngsters. She was employed as an educator at the time she fell ill. Vickie had the gentlest and kindest spirit, which was magnified by her faith in God. She had accepted the Lord Jesus into her life as a teenager. Her faith became the anchor for her life. Vickie loved children. She loved animals and birds. Vickie was giving and compassionate; she had a beautiful voice and used this gift in choir at church. Vickie had many passions; her children (Eric and Kimberly), her family, nature and God. As great as her love for children and family, her greatest love was that for God and His son, Jesus. Vickie was filled with the Holy Spirit. Even in difficult times, she never forgot that her strength came from God. This was especially reflected in the gracefulness in how she handled her illness. Vickie made a difference in the world. With each child she loved and encouraged, with her family with her friends. Among all her contributions, Vickie would say it was her children, Eric and Kimberly. She loved them with a love that only a mother could. Vickie had great faith, hope and love.... her greatest gift was that of love. Vickie will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. SURVIVORS: son Eric D' Hamel Haskins of Charleston; daughter Kimberly Elizabeth Haskins of Charleston; sisters Linda Collingsworth of Hinesville, Janice (Ron) Farrer of Midway and Brenda D'Angelo of Hinesville; brother Larry Williams of Jesup; former husband Dr. Curtis D. Haskins of Charleston and many nieces and nephews who loved "Aunt Vickie" dearly. VISITATION: Visitation will be Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home 1822 East Oglethorpe Hwy. Hinesville Georgia 31313. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Thomas L. Not sure what to say?

I actually "grew up" with Vickie and Brenda. Even though we have been apart for many years, this is a family I have always held dear to my heart. What fond memories and happy days we have shared. My deepest sympathy to the family.

God's blessings,

I met Vicki only recently as I began work on an addition to Brenda's home
Wearing her lovely turban and house coat Vicki told me of her battle with cancer. She explained to me that her spirit was strong and that her faith in God was resolute and that she was at peace with God's will. When I would greet her in the mornings she responded I am just fine Gary and how are you.I saw the hope in her eyes when the test results were good the disappointment when they were bad.I witnessed her courage and Brenda's love and support as they left for the day to battle for her life.
Although the sun has set on Vicki's life here on earth,Vicki has awakened to a beautiful sunrise of peace and joy in Heaven, where for eternity she will be nourished by God's unconditional love.
My soul was blessed to have crossed Vicki's path.
May God bless and comfort you all.

We are thinking of each of you during this very difficult time. I wish I could be there to give you a hug and tell you how very sorry I am. It is snowing here and the roads are icy. I am so thankful I was able to connect with Vickie during her illness. Her faith was an inspiration to me. Vickie was always such a kind, caring, thoughtful, loving person with a sweet, sweet spirit. I will miss her. May your sorrow be softened by the love that still unites you and by the cherished memories you will always have in your heart. I hope it will bring you some comfort to know that we share in your loss and sorrow.
