Victor Wong N. CHARLESTON - Victor Kiu Wong, beloved father, friend, and community member, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 82 years old. Born on October 25, 1942, in Shenzhen, China, Victor was the cherished son of Wang Guanpei and Is Li Guanpei. He carried he values of hard work, generosity, and dedication throughout his life-values that shaped his legacy and left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Victor was the proud owner of Kobe Japanese Restaurant for manyyears, wh ere his passion for food and hospitality brought joy to countless patrons. His love for cooking extended far beyond the kitchen-it was his way of expressing care and creating connection. Whether preparing a meal or sharing a story, Victor had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued. Outside of work, Victor found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved going to the beach, fishing, and diving into history books to learn more about the world. His curiosity, warmth, and quiet wisdom touched the lives of many. Victor is survived by his devoted spouse, Anna Wong, son, Rocky Wong (Jodie), and a host of loving relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory. His life will be celebrated on Saturday, November 1, 2025, with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville, SC. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.Victor Kiu Wong will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
