With so much going on in this world, its been a struggle the past few months and then this message appeared and I read the words I wrote 6 years ago. The power of God is so amazing, a reminder that my uncle is still with me because this is a time when one of his calls would remind that God is with me and in control.

I was so blessed to have Bishop Melendez as an uncle. Somehow he always knew when I needed a sympathetic ear or a few words to pick me up. I never understood how he knew just the right time to call, but I know that he was a Great Man of God and he had the gift of knowing when we needed him most. I will cherish the moments when we had the opportunity to speak on the phone as I drove to work. We talked about everything under the sun, but I really loved when he would take the time and pray for me. I will miss him so much, but I know he's still with me.
To my aunt, cousin Shirley and great cousin Christina, I'm so sorry for your loss. I truly understand your thoughts and feelings, but take comfort in knowing that he's touched so many lives and made a difference to those who were fortunate to know him.
I'm sending hugs to each of you, know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
We love you.

So so very sorry to hear of Bishop Melendez's passing. He was a pleasure to have worked with as an interpreter for the Magistrate's Court. He never met a stranger and truly cared for everyone. He will be missed .

Sad the world lost a great man of God and great friend to a lot of people Bro. Melendez treated me better than any preacher I have ever known and he never judged me, he just loved me. I enjoyed working on his car and his wife is the sweetest nicest lady I know. You will be greatly missed.
