Donna & family: Sorry to hear about your loss. I just found out. I did not know it would be so soon. I did not know you Donna, but he did send an e-mail to say goodbye once he found out of his sickness. He always spoke so highly of you & I knew he had found happiness. Heaven is definately receiving a "strange & funny man." I don't have much to say becuase I had not seen him in 30 years!!! Darlene Rose

Donna, I am sorry that I did not find out about Vern's death until work today. Our talks about our husbands' individual fights with this dreadful illness have helped me a great deal. I hope that you will find some peace and comfort in knowing that Vern is at peace breathing the clean air of heaven and watching over you and your family forever more. I will be there for you in any way you need me. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

There are lots of memories I will treasure about my dad for instance he made the best pot of chicken of rice you will ever come across. And the times he would eat dog bones just to gross me and Faith out. I will cherish the times that we have had together and never forget them. If I had to choose one thing that I wanted everyone to remember about my dad it would be his funny sense of humor. My dad made me laugh and smile even when I did not want to. I love you dad and will miss you greatly. I wish I could of said goodbye and hugged you one more time! He will be missed but in my heart forever. I will try to carry on the chicken and rice recipe with my girls dad, they love ketchup just as much as me!
