God has comforted me through the many face stinging tears. I'm thankful to have been with you in the last eight hours of your life on this earth.

A year ago today Mom, you were here, across the hall in your bedroom. You were in so much pain. Unbeknownst to you and everyone else, you were hours away from joining God in Heaven. God knew. He allowed me a safe flight so I could spend the last eight hours of your life with you. I'm grateful for that time. Today is also your wedding anniversary. You and Dad are back together again, now in Heaven.

Happy 86th Birthday, Mom. Your first birthday away from us on earth but it's also your first birthday in Heaven with God. I know you're at peace. I took some yellow flowers to your gravesite this morning. You loved the color yellow. It's tough being in your house without you. It just doesn't feel the same with you and Dad being gone. I could always count on you to keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I miss you.

Thinking of you Mom on this 8th month since your death. It's also Christmas Eve. It's the first Christmas season without you. A year ago today, I was visiting you and I drove you to visit one of your sisters. We had a blessed time and enjoyed delicious food. As you were getting dressed, you said as you often did, we never know when our time is going to come. Here it is a year later and your time came exactly 4 months after you made that statement. I miss you dearly. I've shed so many tears.

Today was bittersweet. Sweet, in the sense that I celebrated another birthday; yet bitter because you're not here to share it with me. My first birthday without you. One less birthday wish and the most important one. For it was you that carried me for nine months, then gave birth to me. Thank you, Mom. I miss you so much.

A month ago today, you answered God's call to join him in Heaven. You now have the peace you so richly deserve. You were with me when I took my first breath, I was with you when you took your last. Birthdays and Holidays won't be the same without you.
