Vance Edens Obituary

EDENS, JR., Vance Vance Morgan Edens, Jr., 80, of North Charleston, husband of Margaret L. Edens, entered into eternal rest on February 14, 2006, at a local hospital. Born August 29, 1925, in Gilford County, NC. He was the son of the late Vance M. Edens and Margaret Cates. Mr. Edens was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard with 30 years of service. Mr. Edens was a member of the Omar Shrine and Dorchester Masonic Lodge. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: his wife Margaret L. Edens of North Charleston, six sons, Vance M. Edens, III of Summerville, James Edens of North Charleston, David F. Edens of Charleston, Donnie L. Edens, of San Diego, CA, John Mark Edens, of Lakeland, GA and Robert E. Edens, of Hollywood, SC; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2006, 2 p.m., at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. Burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
