Uly Tanner Obituary

Uly Joe Tanner Indiantown, SC - Uly Joe Tanner, 80, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015. Mr. Tanner was born in Florence County, a son of the late Uly Benjamin Tanner and Grace Lucille Eaddy Tanner Baxley. He was a graduate of Indiantown High School. He retired from the SC Army National Guard after 42 years of service, and was a member of American Legion Post #84. He was a member of Indiantown Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He was War Chief of Chaloklowa Chickasaw Indian Tribe. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Martha "Pat" Lovett Tanner; children, Lyn Roberts, Joey Tanner, Sara Huggins (Barry) and Karl Tanner (Chrissy); grandchildren, Becky Cribb (Jamie), Nichole Woodberry (Ricky), Barry Huggins Jr. (Lesley), Karl Tanner Jr. (Kelly), Rachael Roberts, Ben Huggins, Beth Tanner, and Aiden Tanner; great-grandchildren, Brice Cribb, Brayden Woodberry, and Owen Huggins. He was predeceased by a sister, Winnie Rogers Snowden and a brother, Hermon M. Tanner. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Indiantown Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, November 16, 2015, in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
