To the Gibbons Family:
I was so saddened to receive the news of Tradd's passing. I vividly remember how kind and friendly he was to me and all of his classmates at Wando High School. I was so glad to see that he had not changed a bit when I had the pleasure of bumping into him years later. I know you are very proud of him. My and my family's thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.
Sincerely,

Brandy & I are fortunate to have met Tradd at Clemson and become good friends. There are so many memories that put a smile on my face when I think of Tradd. Good times, travels, friendship, an open door when visiting Mt Pleasant, and too many brotherhood memories in Tiger Town. My heart aches for the Gibbons family, Godwin & all of the many friends that Tradd clearly has.

Gibbons Family,
Words can not express the sadness we feel for the loss of Tradd. His memories will live on forever and take comfort in knowing that he is in a better place. Make you take comfort in these words...
LORD,
Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow your love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is discord, union; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy. Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Gibbons, Tate, Tyler, and Godwin,
Please accept my deepest sympathies. May the Lord lift you up in His mercy at this time. Tradd's service was the most beautiful and profoundly spiritual that I have attended. I am humbled to have had the honor to work with him at Blackbaud. Whenever I saw him, he had a spring in his step and his oft-mentioned grin on his glowing face. He always stood tall, with a quiet confidence. He is so terribly missed. "We grieve, but we have hope." May the Lord be with you always.

I am probably the last person to have seen him at Blackbaud when we crossed paths in the parking lot on April 20th.
I have great memories with Tradd at Blackbaud and during his trip to India.
I took him to different malls, restaurants, pubs and other places in India. We went to a mall one Friday evening in Bangalore and it was very crowded. He mentioned to me that this was the first time he ever got stuck in a traffic jam at the mall. He had a great sense of humor and he is a gentleman. He will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with his family members and close friends.

Dearest friends and family of Tradd,
My husband John (Unca to most) and I met Tradd over 8 years ago through our love of music - specifically Widespread Panic.
We traveled to different cities to meet up and it was always such a treat to see Tradd and the gang. Of the crazy, fun-loving gang he was a part of, Tradd always seemed like the most kind, gentle, and thoughtful person.
I will always remember his genuine and open smile. Tradd was a 'good person'. We were shocked and saddened to hear of his tragic passing. But please know that there are countless people across the country who are praying for you and thinking of the wonderful times we all spent with Tradd. God bless and may you find peace in your memories and love of this very special person who touched many lives. Much love, April & Unca

To those Tradd loved:
I knew Tradd or "Gibley" as his close friends called him back then and he was a blessing in my life. Since my wild times at Wando I have become a three time cancer survivor, and I remember vividly one of the last times I spent with Tradd. My parents had rented one of the cottages at the Hilton at Patriots Point for me and my family of close friends, Shane, Sump, Holsclaw, Charles, Chip, and Brad and what turned out to be countless others.. Before my first operation. Tradd was there with Russ, Rhett Austin, Rhett Reidenbach, Kyle, Travis, and Jose, his “boys” and was visibly concerned about me, and I remember having a one on one with him that night before my operation that touches me till this day. I am deeply sadened by this but will always remember his spirit and smile.
God Bless,

I have been a friend of Tradd's for about 8 years after meeting him through the Widespread Panic community. I am completely stunned by his passing. I just saw him a few weeks ago at an engagement party in Columbia and had a lengthy conversation with him.
If lives are measured by what they bring to others, than Tradd's life was a great one. Knowing that Tradd was going to be present always brought an extra smile to my face. He always made me feel good about myself, and I always enjoyed talking to him about many different things.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family and Godwin, who I had the pleasure of meeting recently also. This loss is not easily explained, but I will never forget the positive energy that Tradd brought to my life and many others that he touched.

Mr & Mrs. Gibbons & Family
May this Poem help you find comfort in your loss of Tradd.
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I graduated from Wando with Tradd and remember him as a kind and gentle soul with a warm smile. My prayers are with the friends and family that you may be comforted and surrounded by God's peace during this difficult time.
