Tracy Burke MT. PLEASANT - Tracy Dale Burke, 82, of Ocala, Florida, widower of Dale Reynolds Burke, died Sunday, September 22, 2013. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, at 4:00 pm, with Masonic Rites. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Tracy was born May 9, 1931 in Pikeville, Kentucky, son of the late James H. Burke and Maxie Hall Burke. He was a graduate of The Baptist College with a degree in Physics, and was the was the first civil service employee to participate in the Shipyard's Professional Self-Development Training Program for Non-Engineering Personnel while a full-time employee. He was very proud to have acquired an FCC Radio License, and was previously employed by Honeywell, Cape Kennedy, and Tyndall Air Force Base and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a nuclear physicist. Tracy served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, and was a Life Member of the Etiwan Masonic Lodge #95 AFM. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his daughter, Linnea B. Quick (Speedy) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his granddaughter, Tracy Hannah Quick of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his brother, James Burke (Edie) of Isle of Palms, SC; and his sister, Lou Sizemore of Mt. Airy, NC. Included among the family is Patty Brinser; and his dear friend, Mary Naughton. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lacy Burke and Billy Burke.
