42 years ago today, Dr. Kay conducted the sacred right of marriage for us in Knoxville at Church Street United Methodist Church. He was a gracious and lovely man of God. Peace be upon his family.

I cannot believe my dear pastor and friend is no longer on this earth. I am sure he is enjoying Heaven. I miss his dimpled smile, his laughing eyes and his "God-like" voice. He cannot be forgotten as long as we who remain remember him in his own unique way. Love to remembrance to the family.

Dr. Kay was the Dean at Reinhardt college (now University) when I was a student there from 1969 to 1970. He was very impressive and inspiring. His combination of spiritual maturation and academic accomplishment was part of the motivation for me to make a career in academics. I will always have fond memories of him.

Mr Kay was an amazing minister. One of my fondest childhood memories is of remember him coming out to our house when I was a little girl and performing last rites for a baby Easter chick for me. We had all the neigborhood kids over and he treated it like a real funeral service. He was an amazing man who touched man lives and made them better during their most scarriest and darkest hours.

Dear family, so many of us were blessed by the ministry of Toombs Kay. I was blessed to serve as the director of The Kay Adult Day Service from 4/2008 - 9/2009. He will be greatly missed but his influence will live on through the many lives he touched. Thanks be to God for his life.

Pat, I cannot believe he is gone. He was so wonderful to me and my family and participated in many family events, i.e. weddings, babies, etc. I am caregiver on weekends for my Mom so I will be unable to attend the service. I will be remembering you in my prayers.
