Tommy Garrett Obituary

Tommy Garrett SUMMERVILLE - Tommy Edward Garrett, 86, of Summerville passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends for a visitation the night before from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens, 3345 S Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. In honor of Tommy, memorials can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital Greenville, 950 W Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. Tommy was born on July 9, 1936, in Jamestown, TN, and is the son of the late Joseph C. Garrett and Dela Garrett. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer for 21 and half years. After leaving the military, Tommy would then go on and become a Lone Shoreman and a well-known notary. He loved to travel and go to races, but he was the happiest when he was cruising in his vette every Sunday. Tommy loved his family and friends, but his dog Sadie held a special place in his heart. He was a living legend and will be missed dearly. Tommy is survived by his wife, Carolyn Garrett of Summerville, SC; brother, Howard Garrett (Faye) of Jamestown, TN; sister, Maxine Pierce of Cooksville, TN; step-children, Trisha Stanfield (Shane) of Hudson, FL, Stephanie Frame of Anderson, SC, Falyn Frame of Summerville, SC, Hope Frame of Summerville, SC, and Nicole Frame of Greenwood, SC; along with 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph C. Garrett and Dela Garrett. I worked for Tom and his then wife Patty back in 1990-92 driving one of their trucks hauling containers over the road. Tom was a very stressed out hard worker who gladly got rid of the trucks and went back to being happy. RIP you ol´ wildman.
