Its been 5 years, 5 years!!! Oh how I miss you!! I miss our random talks, random suppers, and so much more! I truly hope you knew how loved you were! Until we meet again!

My Son MICAH HAS MISS CHEIF STRICKLAND HE IS IN COLLEGE NOW AND I KNOW HE WOULD BE PROUD OF MICAH GREENE WE MISS HIM WE KEEP THE FAMILY IN OUR PRyers

I just found out about his passing today. My son came home with a flyer for his memorial walk in May. I had to look at the name again. I'm so sorry to hear about his passing. My condolences goes out to his family and friends. I was in his JROTC class when the ninth graders were at St. Andrews High School before we went to the West Ashley High building. He was a great teacher and I hope to join the walk on May 2nd. R.I.P. Master Chief Strickland.

I just found out today about Master Chief's passing. I want to thank him for all the work he contributed to the Annual Special Olympics Spring Games success. He was missed this year. It will take 20 people to replace him.

Where do I start? My Uncle Tim was the sweetest person. He loved his family! We lost my Grandma (Uncle Tim's momma) on the Wednesday before and it was the first time I had seen him in a few months. He called regularly to meet us for dinner and was a HUGE part of my life. Hearing all of the sweet, honorable, and awesome tributes everyone are taking their time to write has just been amazing and inspirable. The last conversation we had was that he couldn't wait to watch my daughter grow up and he told me that I didn't have to take care of everyone! How ironic because that was something that he always did himself! My prayer is that through this tragedy that we will all remember the man he was and try to live our lives in the example that he taught us in years before! I love and miss you so much Uncle Tim!

It is so hard to believe Tim is gone. I first met Tim in 1980 as I was checking onboard the USS Wainwright CG-28. Tim was a 4.0 person in every aspect. We will miss you!

I remember Master Chief through the Relay For Life that I participated in for CCSD. He always made sure I was taken care of never got weary of my unusual requests. He treated each team as though they were his own. He will be missed by so many. My prayers go out to all those who will miss him.

Rest in peace shipmate! Your sailing program was and is top notch at West Ashley High School and all your time and effort at Short Stay will live on for many years to come. You have touched more lives than you will ever know. My sincere condolences to the family. It has been an extreme pleasure to know and work with you over the last 6 years.

I knew Tim when he and Nancy lived in Rice Hollow. Always a nice person. I am sorry that he has left this world but know it is for a better place. Our community has lost a real treasure. My condolances to the family.

I would like to send my condolences to Mrs. Strickland and the family. Masterchief was one of my teachers and NJROTC Masterchief. He taught me so much. He was a great man and I am grateful to have met him. May you rest in peace Masterchief Strickland.

We are going to miss you Master Chief. My husband, Ed enjoyed spending football clean ups with you using that trash blower! I will miss being able to send you texts and emails about my grandson and what NJROTC will be doing. You gave good advice. You were good with those cadets. I miss you telling me to make sure Lucas looks "SHARP" for a special event you would pick him for. You helped make Lucas, and a lot of others, in so many ways. RIP Master Chief

My thoughts and prayers are with the Strickland family. My son graduated from WAHS and although I did not know him personally, we saw him devoting his time to driving the bus for the football games, volunteering at the track meets, cleaning up after the games and most importantly, interacting with the students. He will truly be missed.

It was an honor to have met and worked with Master Chief Strickland. He had one of the most cheery dispositions I have ever seen. His control and care for his students was truly masterful and worthy of admiration. He gave 110% to everything he did and everyone he met. He did not need a microphone and when he spoke you listened. He was a true military man who expected the best from everyone and treated all with respect from his students to a Medal of Honor winner. I cannot believe he is gone. Rest in Peace Master Chief Strickland. West Ashley High School will be a lot quieter and sadder without your booming voice and bigger than life personality. May our Lord Jesus Christ hold you in his arms to keep your warm and safe and may you rest in peace.

My daughter had the opportunity to be a student of Tim and also join the rifle team at WAHS. He treated the students like they were his own. My daughter knew him for one year yet felt like ten. Master Chief gave me the opportunity to help him assist the rifle team. He always had a great story to tell. He was a true leader! When I heard the news about his passing, it was very hard to take and still doesn't feel real. He had a huge impact on my daughter's life in such a short period of time. Tim had so much energy and hard to believe someone with such an impact is now gone. My daughter would come home and bring up his name a lot. He was a big part of her life. He will never be forgotten...

My prayers are with you and your family. He was an important person in so many students lives. With having personal experience of him having helped our family. He will truly be missed ! So glad I had the pleasure of meeting him.

So sorry to hear of your loss. The Shooting Sports has lost a dedicated coach. We remember the good times we had with him at the American Legion Championships in Colorado Springs.

I am so sorry hear to hear of Tim's passing. We had the wonderful opportunity to know Tim and the many young people that he worked with through The American Legion's air rifle marksmanship program. As a Navy Surface Warfare Officer we shared many a "sea story" together at our national championships in Colorado Springs.

I have many fond memories of the years Master Chief Strickland spent teaching NJROTC at Wade Hampton High School. It has been some time since we graduated and he left, but my peers and I remember him for his bright smile, caring disposition, and cheerful attitude every day! I remember when Tim was diagnosed with his illness. Long time ago. I couldn't imagine a man so vibrant wouldn't live a long, full life. He lived a FULL life..not long enough. I'm so sad to hear of his passing. Such a well intended, good hearted person.

This was a great man. A man who sees the trouble in a person and still puts out his hands to help if you are willing to help yourself. He see potential and help you strive for the best. there is so many words to describe Master Chief, kind, loving, brave, big hearted, he was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off oh his back. He has done so much for West Ashley High School students, he would drive the sport teams around, he took each young person under his wing. He was a part of every event the school had. He helped out with the Relay for Life and so many other events. He gave back to the community every day. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Master Chief Strickland, words can't express how this feeling is. I met you when I was 13 years old entering WAHS for the first time. I joined NJROTC and met you at our orientation. I will never forget the interaction we all had with you. You showed us from the beginning that life is not a joke and showed us the Navy way of life. That made a major impact on my life. Its still surreal to me that you are no longer with us. You kept me going to finish school and I did just that. Before I met Master chief, I didn't want to do NJROTC. I only did it to make my dad happy. After I met him, he changed my life forever. He made me glad I joined and I never wanted to quit. In my eyes, he is an American role model. My family and I will truley miss him.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

My heart was heavy when I heard about Masterchief's death. To the family, we want to thank you for allow him to share his knowledge and skills with my daughter at WAHS. Our prayers and thought are with you.

To the family,friends & cadets we all lost a great man & father if any thing remember the good times and if he taught u anything(cadet's) remember that he was a great teacher and leader as I found out when Tim (E-6)then & I were in the navy together on the wainwright cg-28 he was the only one in my navy career that could tell a E-7 and above to stay out of our work space and get away with it he knew his job(rate)BM he would take the time to train us in our deck div. Many of us went on to higher ranks cause of him. Fair wind's &following sea's my friend your riding the biggest ship now god bless.

Master Chief Timothy Strickland was an amazing man that taught generations of students discipline, ambition, attention to detail, among several other important qualities and life lessons. He had pride for his students and often went above and beyond the job description for teachers... He actually cared about his students. He was more than a teacher. He was like a father to all of us students. I am so very lucky to have known someone like him. My heart goes out to his wife and his family and the rest of my fellow students both past and present.

We are so sad to hear of Masterchief ' s death. He was such a wonderful part of our lives. Sending thoughts and prayers.
