Thomas Weston Obituary

WESTON, Thomas COLUMBIA Memorial service for Mr. Thomas Grier Weston, 60, of Columbia, will be held 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, April 22, 2005, at Park Street Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Samuel G. Catoe officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. The family will receive friends from five-thirty until seven o'clock this (Thursday) evening at SHIVES FUNERAL HOME. Memorials may be made to Park Street Baptist Church, 2204 Park Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Mr. Weston died Wednesday, April 20, 2005. Born in Charleston, SC, he was a son of the late Vernon Wylie and Mary Wilbur Weston. He was an active member at Park Street Baptist Church where he sang in the church choir. Mr. Weston volunteered at the VA Hospital and various libraries during school and while living in Charleston. Thomas was a devoted husband to his late wife Barbara, graciously caring for her during her illnesses. Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles W. and Ellen Moore Weston of Columbia, and Robert V. and Joy Weston of Pacific Grove, CA; an uncle, William C. Wilbur of St. Petersburg, FL; also several cousins, nieces, and nephews. I was sorry to hear of Thomas' death. I last remember seeing him at one of our class reunions, dancing his heart out and having the time of his life. What a way to remember someone as special as Thomas!

Robert, Charles, and families: We were so very sorry to read in this morning's paper of the death of your brother, Thomas. Please know that our thoughts are with you. The JIHS Class of '64 wishes to extend condolences also and are sorry we didn't know about the loss of Thomas's wife, Barbara. We have wonderful memories and some great pictures of the two of them at our last class reunion. Remembering fondly your parents and our times in the Terrace and at JIHS.
