Thomas Stuntebeck MT. PLEASANT - Thomas Anthony Stuntebeck, 76, husband of Elise McLeod Stuntebeck of 48 years,, passed away on Sunday, Jan 1, 2023. Born in Ironton, Ohio and the son of Vincent C. Stuntebeck and Alice Murray, he was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Ironton, Dayton University and Central Michigan University. Upon graduation from Dayton, Tom joined the Air Force and flew C-141 transport planes out of Charleston, SC. He retired from the Air Force Reserve with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and went on to work for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an Air Safety Inspector for the Southern Region in Atlanta, Georgia. Once retired from the FAA, he relocated to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Tom is survived by his wife and three sons, Vincent Allen (Brook), Thomas Lockwood, and Phillip Waring (Lindsay) and has three granddaughters, Anna Marie, Alexandria Brook and Hendrix Elise. He has one surviving sibling, Susan Stuntebeck Zwick of Chicago and two other siblings, Vincent M. Stuntebeck and Katherine Stuntebeck, who have also passed. Tom was an avid sports fan and member of Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday January 12th at 10:30am Eastern time at Christ Our King, located at 1149 Russell Dr., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, followed by a short military service at St. Lawrence Cemetery, located at Huguenin Ave., Charleston, SC 29401, and then a reception, located at McAlister & Smith Funeral Home at 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.
