Tom and I were close acquaintances through being parishioners at Christ church and then cursillo. He was always cheerful and upbeat whenever I saw him . He cherished being a deacon and serving others. I am really going to miss his presence

When I had my heart surgery in February, 2014, Tom came to the hospital everyday to visit and pray for me. He gave me a cross, which was hand carved and told mre to hold it when I felt discomfort or needed guidance from above. In short, he help the healing process, both physically and mentally.
Even though we had met before, I really got to know Tom during that hospital; stay and the weeks after when we would ride together to the Roper/St. Francis cardiac rehab unit. I continue that therapy today, as a result of Tom's encouragement. In fact, I shared the news of Tom's passing with the therapists of the rehab unit and they all remembered Tom fondly. He touched many lives.
I am sorry my wife and I are traveling and did not get to Tom's memorial service, but I wanted the family to know how Margie and I felt.
Thank goodness that God gave us Tom, as he ministered to more people than he probably realizes. God bless this wonderful 'pastor'.

Elizabeth and Family - Barb and I were so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I know how much loss you are feeling now but know that the Lord has Tom in a much better place and in no more pain and discomfort. He served admirably as a true servant of the Lord and reached and changed the lives of those he most humbly ministered. My dad and family was one of those who benefited from Tom's caring and compassion. My mother, though suffering from many ailments including dementia felt Tom's loving comfort in my Dad's final day at the Hospice Center. Elizabeth if you or your family ever needs anything, just ask please. that Barb and I can do, please do not hesitate to ask. I am sorry we cannot attend the funeral due to distance and weather, but know that not only our hearts and sincere sorrow are there with you, but our support of you and the joy and peace that Tom is now with his Father who embraces him in His loving arms.

Elizabeth, I am so sorry to learn of Tom's passing. He was my supervisor many, many years ago when we worked for South Carolina National Bank. I must admit that he was the best supervisor I ever had and I have many fond memories we shared during the years.

You and your family are in my prayers. God bless you.

I have such fond memories Tommy over the years-we were in school together from the third grade! Loved seeing him at our Tuesday reunions and talking with him most recently about him wanting a Boykin puppy. Such a dear man. We will miss you here, my friend, but we rejoice knowing that you are in the Loving Arms of our Lord Jesus!

I was sadden to learn of Tom's passing. Although it has been many years since I have seen Tom, he was a classmate at Erskine College. I recall him fondly with the many good times had and lots of joking and carrying on. I regret our paths haven't crossed since those days in the late 1960's.

Deeply saddened personally and for Tom's family but joyful Tom has made it home. Tom was a blessing to me personally as he always encouraged me by his words and his example. Being a prayer partner with him at Christian Men's Conference at Camp St. Christopher is one highlight. Sharing times at various Kiwanis meetings also. Cursillo gatherings were opportunities to pray, and sing, praises to our God and King. Lifting you up, brother, and thanking God for your influence on me and so many others. Well done!
