Thomas McCabe Obituary

McCABE, Thomas KINGSTREE - Dr. Thomas Gilland McCabe, Sr., 87, died Monday, June 13, 2005 in a Kingstree hospital. Dr. McCabe was born August 23, 1917 in Williamsburg County, a son of Marion Gilland McCabe O'Bryan and Robert C. McCabe, Sr. Dr. McCabe was educated in Kingstree schools, Clemson University, University of South Carolina, and received his DDS from the Medical College of Virginia. He retired after 44 years as a practicing dentist in Kingstree. He also served in the US Navy as a Lt. Commander, was a veteran of WW II and Korea, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Survivors are his wife, Jean Woodham McCabe of Kingstree; two sons, Thomas G. McCabe, Jr. of Guyton, SC and William M. McCabe of Charleston; one daughter, Caroline M. Wolf of Rockville, MD; one sister, Marion O. Vaughan of Hampton, SC; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2005 in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.
