Thomas Jones Obituary

JONES, SR., Thomas ELLOREE, SC - Thomas Bair Jones, Sr., 92, of Calhoun Convalescent Center in St. Matthews, SC passed away on Monday, September 5, 2005. Funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Fellowship Baptist Church, Elloree. Pastor John Salazar will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Jericho United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cameron, directed by FOGLE HUNGERPILLER FUNERAL HOME. Mr. Jones was born in Calhoun County; a son of the late William Franklin Jones and the late Mary Frances Bair Jones. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Mr. Jones retired from the Elloree Veneer Company, having worked as Plant Superintendent and Mechanic. After his retirement, he opened his own ship, "Jones Sharp-All", which he operated for many years. He was a member of the Community Hunting Club and the Elloree Golden Age Club. He was married to the late Mamie Wiles Jones. He was predeceased by four brothers, William Hugh Allen, Marion, and Harold Jones; two grandsons, Mike Chance, and Pastor Jeff Jones; a step-son, Clifford Hungerpiller. Surviving are his wife, Allison Bozard Hungerpiller Jones, Cameron; four sons, John William and Delores Jones, Lakeland, FL, Thomas B. Jr. and Harriett J. Jones, Elloree, Malcolm L. Jones, Sr., and Rosemary Moore, Elloree, Aubrey G. and Johnnie Jones, Santee; two daughters, Joan J. and L.C. Chance, Elloree and Frances J. Smith, Elloree; one step daughter, Bryce H. and John Boylston, Cameron; two brothers, Clifton Jones and Milton Felder, both of Elloree; one sister, Emily J. Hutto, Holly Hill and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Memorials may be mad to Alzheimer's Association, Mid Atlantic States, SC Chapter, P.O.
