Thomas Hanna Obituary

Thomas S. Hanna Charleston - Thomas Samuel Hanna the "Godfather", entered eternal rest on December 13, 2021, at the age of 73. Born June 26th, 1948, in Akron, Ohio, the world was instantly a more vibrant place. He lit up every room with the true joy for life that he radiated. He was a bocce master, a grill king and a poker whiz. He loved Cleveland Sports and the Ohio State Bucks with the passion of a true fan. But most importantly he was a beloved son, husband, father and gido. There was never a dull moment or an empty glass when he was around as he lived his life to the fullest every day, every moment, every breath. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelmina and Office Hanna and older siblings, Gerald and Myrna. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, who was the light and love of his life for 50 years; children, Shaun and wife, Cheryl, Kelli and husband, Todd, Jeff and wife, Mandy, Tracy and husband, TJ; grandchildren, Isis, Dylan, Colette and Greyson. Tom would never want anyone to feel somber and sad for his passing. He would rather us celebrate his life with a smile, a story and a shot....well maybe a few shots. In lieu of flowers, we were going to ask for donations to finance the Viking funeral at sea that he often spoke of but even closer to his heart was finding a cure for cystic fibrosis.
