Thomas Gotell Obituary

CMsgt Thomas Gotell, Jr. SUMMERVILLE - CMsgt Thomas Gotell, Jr., U.S. Air Force (Ret.) was called home after a lifetime of unwavering faith, courage, service, and love on March 9, 2021. As a child, Thomas was an energetic and active member of Fountain Grove AME Church in McIntyre, Georgia. Upon graduating from Calhoun Consolidated High School in 1965, Thomas fulfilled his childhood dream and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He would go on to travel extensively throughout the Middle, Near, and Far East, serving two tours of duty in the Vietnam conflict, and both operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Thomas was a driven and dedicated public servant. After retiring Thomas decided to make metropolitan Charleston his permanent home, purchasing a home in Summerville and becoming a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in North Charleston, South Carolina. Moreover, Thomas continued his lifelong mission of public service by starting a new career with the U.S. Postal Service. Thomas is survived and mourned by his beloved wife of forty-nine years, Eddie Joyce Gotell, his children, LaTisha Gotell Faulks and her husband, Andy, William Thomas Gotell, III and his wife, Julie, Adrienne Monique Hartwell, and his grandchildren, Lionel Norman Hartwell, III, Thomas Henry Faulks, Aria Marie Hartwell, and Ramona Marie Gotell. To CMSGT Family, I am sorry to find that CMSgt Gotell has passed. We were in the Civil Enginering squadron at Misawa AF Base Japan at the same time as SMSgt. We attended to weekly Commanders up date at parade rest during our time there. A good man. Steve Evans, Mobile Alabama
