tommy was VERY special, talented & unforgettable. he is missed by sooooo many people,not just his music fans. he was not only entertaining, but extremely charismatic. i always enjoyed listening AND watching him. good memories

he had a great personality, (sooo charismatic) & a wonderful talent that he shared with all of us. he will be missed by his many followers, friends & family. RIP tommy

My first gig upon returning to Charleston in 1999 was the "First Night Out / Pineapple Drop" with Tommy and some of Charleston's finest musicians. I was lucky enough to perform with Tommy a few more times in the years since. What an honor! We've lost a great talent. My heartfelt condolences.

My deepest sympathies to all of the family. I went to high school with Tommy, many years ago. I've only run into him once in the last 30 years, but heard from numerous sources how successful he was. He was such an amazingly talented musician and he was a wonderful guy... one of the nicest I knew and I considered him a great friend. I am so sorry to hear that he has gone from this world, but I look forward to seeing him in the next. He is missed and will not be forgotten... never has been!

Remember growing up across the street from Tommy. He tried to teach me how to play the piano. He could play like an angel.

Tommy was my first real live music hero growing up - I kept working hard because one day I wanted to play like Tommy. It was a pleasure to get to make music with such a talent and a good heart.

Tracy, This is Kimberly from Publix and I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss of Tommy. You always spoke of him with quite a love and I know he is gone too soon!! My condolences to all.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Gill and Stroman family. Tommy and I grew up across the street from each other up until about the fifth grade. Turned out our birthdays were one day apart too. I spent many days and nights at the Gill household. As a drummer, we would spend a lot of time together playing music, whether it was in the upstairs room, football field or the band room at the high school. Tommy had a god given talent that most people will never have. Rest in peace my friend. Rams forever.

Remembering the musician he was... Now he can teach the saints.
