Thomas Warren Eiserhardt Charleston - The sun is aglow, the seas are calm, and the wind in its solemnity whispers. Thomas Warren Eiserhardt has passed into eternal rest amidst a gathering of his cherished family on November 22, 2022. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 28, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 95 Hasell Street. The Rite of Committal will be private. The family will receive friends following the service at Hibernian Hall, 105 Meeting Street. Tommy was born in Charleston on April 9, 1952, the youngest child of Charles E. Eiserhardt and Cecil Leitch Eiserhardt. The loving husband of forty-five years to Rita Mullan Eiserhardt, he leaves his magnanimous influence upon his family and friends alike. Growing up in downtown Charleston, Tommy attended Sacred Heart School and later Nativity School on James Island before amassing a stellar high school career. Tommy was a starting lineman on an undefeated Bishop England High School football team (1967) as a sophomore and was named as a Post & Courier All Lowcountry selection as the senior co-captain of the 1969 Battling Bishops squad. Tommy graduated from Clemson University as a Business Major. His genial experiences at Clemson range between myth and lore - made all-the-more compelling by his on-time graduation in 1974. He became an avid Clemson Tiger fan, rarely missing the opportunity to re-engage with his fraternity brothers, Kappa Alpha, along with many admiring friends at football tailgates. Tommy began his career with Burris Chemical Company in product sales while residing in Atlanta, Georgia and Aiken, South Carolina. In 1986, Tommy and Rita moved back to Charleston, as he became the co-owner of The Sportsman's Shop (now T&T Sportsman's Shop). In this capacity, Tommy interacted with athletics' departments of high schools and colleges across South Carolina. Tommy deftly administered the team sports division of the company with a keen sense of relationship building, supplying gear and uniforms to hundreds of teams at every level. Should warmth of character and legendary generosity extol the highest stead of mankind, then the life of Tommy Eiserhardt served all who knew him brilliantly. His friendships were broad and deep, his detractors as yet undiscovered. Tommy served as Secretary, Managing Committee Chairman, and then as President of The Hibernian Society of Charleston (2006-2008). He served his Catholic faith, an endless list of charities, and numerous civic based volunteer roles to elevate the common good. Notably, he chaired the Knights of Columbus Council 704 Turkey Day Run for two years, enhancing its growth to become the largest 5K race in South Carolina. He also served as president of the Metropolitan Charleston Exchange Club. His affability and gregarious nature were much appreciated in other settings - especially at the Country Club of Charleston and at the famous Hibernian Back Bar. Tommy's dearest loved ones include his dedicated wife, Rita, his daughters, Brislin Eiserhardt West (Brooks), and Carnes Eiserhardt Campbell (Benton). He adored his precious grandchildren - Olivia West, Brucie West, Eliza Grace Campbell, and Emma Campbell. He is also survived by his brother, Charles E. "Chuck" Eiserhardt, Jr., (Carolyn), and sisters, Margaret E. Bullwinkel (George), and Mary Ellen E. Lenhardt (Robert "Buddy"), as well as his brother-in-law, Edward "Buddy" Mullan (Sherry) along with his many treasured nieces and nephews. I worked for Tommy at the Sportsman´s Shop downtown when I was a mere 16. Tommy was so awesome and I remember him and this time in my life fondly( I am now 52). He gave me a chance to have a job and I had a blast. He was a super cool guy. Big hugs to his family and cheers to Tommy!!

Stephanie and I are sadden to hear the news of Tommy’s passing. As a young couple working at Burris Chemical, Tommy was always helpful to me in learning the business. He always had a big smile, a great laugh, and encouraging words. Whenever we met at the Back Bar at the Hibernian, at the Sportsman store, or any social event, Tommy always took time to ask about my in-laws (Richard and JoAnne Infinger) and my family. Tommy certainly enjoyed life, and he will be truly missed by us all.
