Mal, Heather, and Karen...You are all in our prayers. When something like this occurs its difficult to put a coherent thought together. I do want you to know from a friend that I learned more from Tom Antos than any other individual I have ever known.

On Grayling Tom ran the entire show. All that I am came from Tom. I'll never forget that when my XO's and Engineer's Dad's passed on that I put Tom in charge of running the ship as we deployed to the Med. In doing so I was able to leave my XO and ENG to take care of Family matters.

After six weeks the ship was running about 4.0 thanks to Tom.

Of course he would never take credit to the great job he did.

I could go on forever, suffice it to say that he was humble to a fault, he cared tremendouly for His Family, His Shipmates, His Navy, And His Submarine Force.

I will never forget him and the mentoring he provided me and literally thousands of Shipmates.

God Bless,

Al Konetzni

Our hearts go out to TK's family. Tom was a great shipmate and friend. We served aboard the Von Steuben and he always reached out to help crew and families when ever the need arose. The good always die young. Fair winds and following seas Tom!
