Theresa Pop Obituary

Theresa Ann Pop CHARLESTON - Theresa Ann Pop entered into eternal rest at her home on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Born on June 16, 1939 to William Scarborough and Margarite Belding Scarborough, Theresa was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Being a native of Charleston, she enjoyed the Low-country life and raised her family here. Her work in the insurance industry was important to her for many years, but her love and commitment to her family was her most important and treasured occupation. In addition to her parents, Theresa is preceded in death by her beloved oldest son, Darren Pop, and her siblings. She is survived by her loving husband, Edmond Pop, her son Steven Pop, daughter-in-law, Ginger Pop, and her adored grandchildren, William and Julia Pop. Together, they will join in honoring her legacy with a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Nativity, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston, 1, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 11:30 am. A Burial service will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412 As we gather to celebrate Theresa's life, let us reflect on the joy she brought to those around her and the memories that will forever remain in our hearts. Though she may have departed this world, her spirit will live on through the love she shared and the impact she made during her time with us. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a Lowcountry Hospice Organization in Theresa's honor. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted online at mcalister-smith.com/. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation - James Island, 347 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412, 843-614-8494.

Uncle Sonny, Steven, Ginger and children,
We are hurting with you and will give you healing hugs when we see you.
Aunt Terry taught me how to be a Mom. She showed me how to make the perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I quickly realized the secret ingredient was Love , from story time to bubble bath time, her Motherly Love was at the center. She loved the fact that I ended up having 2 boys as well. Darren and Steven, how fortunate to have such an amazing Momma! I know she is with Darren now, I am sure that brings comfort.
Uncle Sonny, I always admired your beautiful marriage, so loving, playful and dedicated to each other. Our love to you all. May perpetual light shine upon her. Shelia Brabham Brumlow and Chris Brumlow
