At the first Barcamp Charleston (Oct 2009), Theresa posted a Siesta session, because she thought some Barcampers (meaning her) might need a break from all the activity going on at Barcamp. Her session is the orange sticky note just above the top left corner of the laptop.

My daughter, Colleen, knew Theresa from DGN and they Facebooked each other frequently. I only got to know Theresa because Colleen passed away in 2011 and I used HER Facebook friends list to reach out to people and let them know of her passing. Theresa had a wonderful sense of humor and it seemed that she always kept her chin up and tried to find the best of everything in people. May she rest in a field of gorgeous flowers forever more.

After my diabetes diagnosis I decided I needed to go to the gym on a more regular basis and get back into some kind of shape. She wanted to get "less puny" and prepare for another Transplant Games so for a little while, we became gym partners. Our gym routine worked out so that I'd do cardio while waiting for her to get to the Wellness Center, then we'd head to the weight training area (she wasn't a fan of cardio, but I made her do a little bit). One time after a particularly tough set of squats, she punched me in the arm, catching me totally off guard. After that it became her thing to do and I got punched in the arm a fair bit.

My thoughts and prayers are with Theresa's family and friends. I have worked with Theresa on and off for several years at MUSC and I know she will be deeply missed. I'm glad she is trading her bag of drugs for a garden of flowers!

One sunny day we sat at the horseshoe, MUSC and ate chicago hotdog. She was very happy that she could have a chicago hotdog outside in the shiny beautiful day. She laughed a lot like crazy Jimmy (her cat) with messy hands covered with mustard and ketchup. She was considerate, warm, and hilarious person. She will be missed a lot.

Theresa will be very much missed by all of her friends in the Dept. of Psychiatry and throughout the Medical University of South Carolina. She was an inspiration to us all, never giving up the fight and approaching life with determination, intelligence, and a wonderful sense of humor. I will be planting a memorial in my garden for Theresa. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends.

I got to know Theresa just a few months ago at MUSC, and whenever talking to her she kept a smile on her face. I will always remember her that way, I know your still smiling from up above. May God bless you all during your time of grief.

I had the privilege of meeting Theresa while I worked at MUSC. She was so pleasant. She always wore a smile. I was absolutely stunned to hear of her passing.
To her parents, you raised a wonderful daughter. To her siblings, hold on to the memories.
It is my prayer that God grants you all the power beyond what is normal, and a peace that excels all thought.

Theresa was one of kind! A great friend and co-worker, Theresa inspired everyone around her as we often watched in awe as she pushed through her health challenges. Theresa excelled in her various positions at MUSC, always pushing forward and looking for the next level of efficiency. More importantly, she was a wonderful person with a big heart! Theresa's family remains in our thoughts and prayers.
