Theresa Gordon Obituary

Theresa Gordon AUGUSTA, GA - Margaret Theresa Cone Gordon, age 92, entered into rest peacefully at her home on Monday, January 9, 2023. Theresa's service to her family and community was exemplary. She provided a constant home to her 12 children, extended family, and friends. In her home, everyone felt welcomed, respected, at ease, and at peace, knowing that she loved and cared for them. Her door stayed unlocked and always inviting, and her wisdom and strength were a beacon for all who knew and loved her. She was a true southerner with traditional values and hospitality, at her core was a deep love for the Lord, and her life was an example that inspired others to invite God into their lives and abide by His will. She will be greatly missed, and always loved by many. Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Richard Joseph Gordon; her children: Charles Whitlock Gordon, Jane Elizabeth Mueller and Daniel Scott Gordon; parents: Herman and Agnes Cone; and siblings: Janet Cone Walker and Kenneth Andrew Cone. Family members include her sisters: Barbara Cone Schmunk and Diane Cone Laffin; children: Susan Marguerite McCartney (Forrest), James Matthew Gordon (Margaret), Anne Marie Norton, Ellen Madelyn Sheffield, Paul Vincent Gordon, Andrew Michael Gordon, Katherine Mary Ozburn (Tim), Sara Jeanne Brogdon (Steve) and William Joseph Gordon; grandchildren: David Hubbell (Jody), Daniel Hubbell, Christopher Hubbell, Audrey Jinks (Jamie), Connie Fraser (Noah), Karina Tesar (Buddy), Robert Norton, Elizabeth Singleton McNair (Patrick), Brian May, Nikos Sheffield, Aimee Sheffield, Thomas Gordon, Kristin Cordaro (Stephen), Patrick Gordon, Anna Gordon, Mary Grace Gordon, Tyler Gordon (Alyssa), Carlie Vowell (Taylor), Willow Ozburn, Joshua Ozburn, Marie Ozburn and Pax Brogdon and 20 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 13, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Ross celebrant. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ken Cone, Pax Brogdon, Thomas Gordon, Robert Norton, Willow Ozburn, Daniel Hubbell, Brian May and Colin Jinks.
