Thelma Howard Obituary

HOWARD, Thelma Thelma Rosalee Freeman Howard, 74, widow of Leo Cooper Howard of Hanahan, SC entered into eternal rest Friday, April 29, 2005 in a local hospital. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Howard are invited to attend her funeral service Monday, May 2, 2005 in. J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at one o'clock. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday evening in Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel from six until eight o'clock. Mrs. Howard was born September 24, 1930 in Manning, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lewis James Freeman and Bertha Locklair Freeman. She was an avid StingRay fan and friend to many of the players. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Surviving are one son, Lewis B. Howard and his wife Myrtle of Mount Pleasant, SC; four daughters, Brenda Legare of North Charleston, SC, Linda Hoover and her husband Bill of Hanahan, SC, Myrtle Howard of Hanahan, SC, and Cindy Schoenly and her husband Tom of Wisconsin; one brother, Charlie Freeman of North Charleston, SC; three sisters, Addie Kirvin of Mount Pleasant, SC, Juanita Maddox of Hanahan, SC, and Lilamae Way of Lincolnville, SC; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son Melvin Cooper Howard and her husband Leo Cooper Howard. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The American cancer Society, 5900 Core Rd., Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406.
