Terry Sumler Obituary

Terry Lynn Sumler BRUNSON, SC - Mrs. Terry Lynn Stanley Sumler, 56, of 3738 Luray Highway near Brunson, died Tuesday in the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. Mrs. Sumler was born in Aiken, April 18, 1959 a daughter of the late Lee C. and Dorothy Mae Stewart Stanley. She worked as a clerk with Lawton Oil Company in Estill, and was a member of the Luray Christian Church. She was an avid bird watcher. Terry never met a stranger. She opened her heart and home to all. She loved her family most of all. Mrs. Sumler was the widow of Frank Everett Sumler. Surviving are: Her husband: Steve Rushing of the home; Son: Mac Ferguson "Christy" of Varnville; Daughters: Tara Clifton "Wally" of Hampton and Rachel Phillips "Burt" of Nixville. Brother: Benny Stanley of Grays; and a Sister: Dianna Simmons "Bubba" of Allendale. Step Children: Greg Rushing of Beaufort, April Cone of Sycamore, Stephanie Rushing of Hampton, and Bradley Rushing of Brunson. Grandchildren: Meagan, Mackenzie, Wally, Grayson, Madi, and Evan; and Step Grandchildren: Drew, Logan, Austin, Connor, Brooklyn, Annabelle, Emmlyn, and Luke. She also had many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Mrs. Sumler was predeceased by a sister: Dottie Able. Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Friday in the Luray Christian Church conducted by Rev. Noel Cooper, with burial in the Grimes Cemetery near Grays, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton. Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday, and Friday morning until 12 noon when the casket will be placed in the church prior to services.
