Terri Anne Mims Hutto
North Charleston - Terri Anne Mims Hutto, 78, of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on July 29, 1947, in Charleston, South Carolina, Terri was the daughter of the late Harold L. Mims and Eula J. Mims. She attended North Charleston High School, University of South Carolina and spent her life rooted in the Lowcountry she loved.
Terri was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Bill Hutto, as well as her brothers, Kenneth L. Mims Sr. and Michael W. Mims. She is survived by her sister, Susan Mims of Camden, South Carolina.
She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory, including her daughter, Allison Hutto Summey and her husband Elliott, along with their children, Jackson and Harrison Summey, and her son, Michael Len Hutto. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Terri will be remembered as a devoted daughter, a caring sister, and a loving mother. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness. Her warmth, kindness, and steady presence were a gift to those who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home and Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the skilled nursing team at Gadsden Glen at Bishop Gadsden for their compassionate and dedicated care. They also wish to thank Mary Eaddy for her friendship, support, and the comfort she brought through the years.
Pallbearers will be Jackson Summey, Harrison Summey, Rhett Fuller, Lizzie Fuller, Douglas Bunch, Faron Smith, and Greg Gomes.
