My sincerest condolences go out to the families and friends. We met many years ago, in recent years I'd see her at the GCPO sometimes and she always would say hello with her beautiful smile.

We met Hartley and Tawney in the Duke lung transplant program as my wife Paulette and Hartley waited to be listed. We saw Tawney all the time pretranplant and even when Hartley and Paulette were transplanted we were on the same recovery floor. She was Hartleys constant supporter, cheerleader, advocate and her abiding love carried him through one of the toughest times of his life. She was a light and inspiration to all of us to what the power of love can accomplish. Hartley, I truly hope her determination for you to live will carry you through your grief and recovery to honor her love and commitment to you. Steve and Paulette Hanson.
