Sylvia Weatherford Obituary

Sylvia O'Quinn Weatherford Charleston - Sylvia C. O'Quinn Weatherford, 84, passed away peacefully, Friday evening, January 5th, 2018, surrounded by loving family in her home on James Island, SC. Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., January 12, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 942 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. Sylvia loved children and loved life; she owned and operated a daycare nursery from the mid 60's into the 70's. She then went on to try her hand at catering for several years and then went into Civil Service with the U.S. Air Force where she earned a security clearance with the Department of Naval Investigative Service where she retired after 20+ years. Sylvia then devoted her time to her beloved Calvary Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer for many years. Sylvia is survived by son-in-law, Bobby Sarco; daughter's, Rhonda Weatherford, Libby Coker (Cari) & Nancy Williams(David); Eight grandchildren, Anna Bickham (Jason), Whitney Sarco, Jason Weatherford, Rachael Reeves, Lisa Curtis (Lynn), David A Williams (Kim), Christina Coker, Cari J Coker; eight great grandchildren, Shelby, Harper, Jameson & Baby Boy (due in April) Bickham, Madison & Sara Curtis, Emmerson & Ansley Williams and a multitude of loving friends. Sylvia was preceded in death by husband, Snookie; son, Harold Keith; and daughter, Deborah Lynn Sarco. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sylvia' s honor to Calvary Baptist Church, 942 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
