Sylvia Niedrich Obituary
Sylvia Mary Niedrich, 89, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed peacefully into the Lord's care on September 30, 2025. Born July 3, 1936, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the cherished daughter of the late Ture Segerstrom Nelson and Mary Nelson. Sylvia lived a life defined by compassion, warmth, and unwavering strength, qualities that touched everyone who knew her. She welcomed all with kindness and grace, and her life reflected faith, compassion, and joyful service to others. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Chief Master Sergeant William Edward Niedrich, USAF (Ret.). Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and resilience. Their enduring partnership was a testament to commitment and devotion, and they shared countless cherished memories along the way. Sylvia worked for many years as a beautician, where she not only styled hair but also touched hearts. Her clients often became friends, drawn by her gentle spirit and listening ear. Outside of work, she loved dancing and delighted in filling her home with the aromas of her cooking. Every meal was made with care, and her family will forever remember the warmth of her kitchen and the joy of her table. Family was Sylvia's heart. She dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, always putting others before herself. She is also survived by her daughter, Sherry Ann Niedrich Harbin (Paul Clayton Harbin), and her son, Ronald William Niedrich (Ruth Marie Niedrich). Her children were her pride and joy, and she was their guiding light, offering wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love. She treasured her grandchildren, William Richey Niedrich and Wesley Walton Teasley, who brought immense joy to her life. She was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Jax William Niedrich, whose presence filled her heart with happiness. Her beloved sister, Marjorie Nornes, along with numerous relatives and friends, will remember her as a source of strength, kindness, and unwavering support. Sylvia's faith in God was the cornerstone of her life. Her strength, courage, and selfless devotion were evident in everything she did. Among the many scriptures that guided her, one of her favorites came from Psalm 23: "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 S.
