Sybil Trout Obituary

Sybil Josephine Trout MT. PLEASANT - Sybil Josephine (Jo) Trout stood and walked into her Savior's arms on May 30, 2023. Born to Olin and Thelma Wingo Page in Boiling Springs on August 1, 1934, Jo married Navy Corpsman Oliver O. Trout, Jr. on November 19, 1952. Their last duty station was Charleston, where they established their home on the Isle of Palms in 1965. Jo was the Director of the Daycare at Isle of Palms First Baptist Church and retired from a career in Food Service for the Charleston County School District. Jo was the glue which held her family together and she fought entering her Father's House until each member of her family was saved. Jo was known for her stoic character and asked little of her children save her often repeated request that she have a traditional, Christian burial, interred beside her husband. Jo was preceded in death by her husband and two of her children, Joan and Steve. She is survived by children, Diane Shults, Timothy Trout, Susan Trout Kinard, and Mark O. Trout; granddaughter, Hannah E. Kinard and great-grandson, W. Rosco Kinard; three other granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. Jo was cremated.
