Susan Zix Obituary

Susan Zix MT. PLEASANT - Susan Boldrick Zix, lovingly called, "Nan", passed away Saturday, December 15 at Hospice of Charleston. She was 96 years young and lived every minute to the fullest and always had a smile on her face. She was born December 3, 1916 in her beloved Louisville, KY. She married Irvin T. Zix and moved to Petersburg, VA in 1936 where they lived for 66 years. She was a lifelong active member of Christ and Grace Episcopal Church. Susan moved to Mt. Pleasant, SC in 2011 to be closer to family and joyfully lived at Somerby of Mt. Pleasant. She loved to travel all over the world, play bridge, treasured her extended family and friends and adored being mother, grandmother, and great grandmother "the most". She leaves each of us with a joy of life! Susan is survived by a son, Tom Zix (Carol) of Taylors, SC, a daughter, Susie Lee (Sonny) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her grandchildren: Kris Zix of Louisville, KY, Brad Zix of Hendersonville, NC, Christopher Lee (Erin) of Wilmington, DE, Katie Stover (Jeff) of Charleston, SC, and Chuck Lee of Charleston, SC; great grandchildren: Will, Jack, and Andrew Zix, Sophia Lee, Crawford Stover and Trey and Tyler Lee. There will be a Celebration of her life service on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Somerby of Mt. Pleasant, 3100 Tradition Circle, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466, with Rev. David Adams, chaplain of Roper St. Francis Mt. Pleasant Hospital, presiding. At Susan's request, memorial contributions can be kindly made to the Fellowship Fund at the Petersburg Home for Ladies, 311 south Jefferson Street, Petersburg, VA 23803, where she happily thrived for 14 years, or Hospice of Charleston at 4975 LaCross Rd, Charleston, SC 29406. The family wishes to thank the wonderful care, love and support of all the staff at Roper St. Francis Mt. Pleasant (third floor south) and all the staff at Hospice of Charleston.
