Steven Sinn Obituary

Steven L. Sinn Mt. Pleasant - Steven L. Sinn, beloved husband and father and grandfather; best friend to many; and invaluable confidant; passed away on Sunday afternoon. Steve, known as Poppy to his family, had an insatiable curiosity for the treasures of this world: he was a constant traveller and discoverer; a successful marathoner; an occasionally frustrated chess player; an indefatigable Giants fan; and a man who committed himself, in the deepest possible way, to a lifetime of learning and new experiences. He left this world in the only way he knew it-surrounded by loved ones, enjoying precious memories, absorbed in the joy that he showered upon others. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen; his children Alexis, Adrian, Chris, Rebecca, and Stephanie; and his grandchildren Michael, Charlie, Grace, Jack, Ada, and Georgia, and his sister, Pat Bloomgarden, and his dog Molly. Steve will live on in their hearts and souls every day. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 12:00 PM At J. Henry Stuhr, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Visit our guestbook at www.legacy.com/obituaries/ charleston

Just noticed this, in a search for people who were meaningful to me in my life. I worked for/with Steve for a number of years. I don't mean to make this about me, but finding this was a real gut punch. Steve was one of the nicest, brightest and most likeable people who ever entered my life. I'm hurting too Kathy. :'(

I met Steve when we enrolled at Johns Hopkins University in the fall of 1963. We became very close friends, almost inseparable; we visited each other's homes; and were roommates (with bunk beds!)our sophomore year. Although we haven't communicated recently, I have wonderful memories of all we shared as we entered our world of independence. My condolences to the family.

We met Steve at the wonderful wedding brunch he hosted for his beloved daughter Rebecca when she and my brother married. It was clear that he was a loving and proud father. We felt his warm welcome, bright energy and true curiosity about the world. His legacy is the beautiful family he's created and we are fortunate to have Rebecca as part of our family too. We hold Steve's family in our thoughts and prayers.

In sympathy,

Harish, Suzanne, Sofiya and Arjun Lyall
