Hanna and Randall: You both grew up with Donnie and Philip and we cherish all the memories of many wonderful years knowing your Dad, and we are so deeply sorrowed for this loss of a wonderful person. Stay strong and walk with the Lord; He is your strength now and forever.
Mr & Mrs Scarborough and Family: Alvin and Steve were very close when we lived on James Island and they were bonded by their work in Residential building; he helped us put in cabinetry in 4 units on Folly Beach and our families spent many hours fishing and crabbing at the beach. We will cherish our memories of him forever and May God Bless you all-Steve lived his life with kindness and love for everyone-we will keep him and his dear family in our hearts forever. Alvin and Susan Messervy & Family.

We were surprised and saddened to learn of Steve's untimely death.
We have never had a more helpful, friendly, pleasant neighbor in our 44 years in Lighthouse Point. (The helpfulness extended to his showing Ted some verrry good fishing spots!)
May The Lord take him to his bosom for eternity and comfort those he has left here on earth.

I am not good with words (nice ones that is) but Mom, I know you are sad and that you feel like you can't go on but you must think of all the good times that we all had with Dad... How many time did he give you the look when we were around like WOW!! the kids are nuts! You were truly in love he was your MAN and he always will be. You guys were like teenagers in love and although gross at time (You are my mom) you were cute. With the patty cake and hand holding. Steve always had something nice to say and told all of us to do the same he was the sun on the cloudy day. For all of us who were lucky enough to spend his last few years with him and his laugh and his smile and god know's his wit he will always be in our hearts and always be missed. He as a great DADDY and a great GRANDDADDY !!!! I could go on and on but I will stop for now. I love you mom and hold your head high and be proud to say HE LOVED ME!!

Joe, Mr. & Mrs. Scarborough, Bonita and family. I am so sorry about the sudden passing of Steve. Steve and I graduated from Butler High School together. I reunited with Steve when I moved to Charleston and he worked for Rapid Repairs. I always felt like Steve and I were life long friends. He was such a great guy. He loved to fish and he definitely loved all his family. I too will miss him and remember him always. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at this time.

It is always hard to hear of a death and harder when you know the person. I worked with Steve at TB & T. I keep looking for him to walk down the stairs at work. He had a unique way of coming down becauses of his bad leg. He seemed to always of a little saying. The last one I heard him say was when I had asked him and Chip if they needed anymore help unloading. They were nearly done and he says "people are like blisters, they come up when the work is done." I laughed. He was a good fella.

Randall and family-

I am so sorry to hear about your loss, and hope things will be looking up soon.

I had the pleasure to be coached by 'Coach Scarborough' back in little league when I was growing up. We would practice back behind James Island High School's Softball field where we always had a ball. Coach Scarborough and my father, Bobby, became good friends and coaches together to help our team win.

Just wanted to send our prayers and thoughts out to you Randall and your family during this time. May Coach 'win one for the team' in heaven. SHARKS ON 3......GO SHARKS!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Steve this year while looking for a cabinet maker. Not only did he do a wonderful job on my house, but he made such an impression on me. He was always smiling and was such a kind person. I know he will be greatly missed.

i am sorry for your lost i only knew Steve a little. My dad and Steve use to work at Rapid Repairs together and they were friends. i remember he would come and see my dad and i would always tell them that they were twins. they look so much a like they could pull it off as being brothers. he use to call me his daughter when he use to stop by and i would call him my other daddy. my husband also knew Steve to he also worked at Rapid Repairs with him. we all are shocked that he is now gone and we all pray for the family and hope that the lord can guide them to the right path to always remember him and enjoy the times that we had with him. god bless.
