Steve Chase Obituary

Steve Chase MT. PLEASANT January 6, 1928-April 25, 2015 Dad, Papa, Friend On Saturday, April 25, our family's loving, generous, witty, and eternally positive, patriarch entered the Kingdom of Heaven. Steve passed away at home in his favorite chair reading the paper, happy and comfortable... now he is reunited with his wife, "Janie", and his granddaughter, Shayla, he so dearly loved and missed ... His infectious smile, and laugh will be so missed by his family ... Steve's children, Stephen (Colleen, Santa Rosa, CA), Michael (Mt. Pleasant, SC) and Lisa Chase (Brent Matthews, Mt. Pleasant); grandsons, Chase (Jen Kearney, Mt. Pleasant), Stevie and Nick (Santa Rosa), and Corey (Mt. Pleasant)... as well as many, many other loved ones and friends...he will live on in our hearts each and every day... Steve was born in Crown, West Virginia, married his "Janie" in 1950, served in the Air Force, graduated Magna Cum Laude, from Fairmont University, all while working three jobs and supporting a wife and small son... he accepted a position with Moore Business Forms upon graduation, and spent almost 45 years with them, in West Virginia, Washington DC, and finally Andover, Massachusetts... Steve and Jane relocated to the Low Country they so dearly loved and enjoyed in 2001... Golfing with his grandson, Chase, boating with Corey, and Shayla, fishing... and spending time with his family and friends... A private family memorial to celebrate his love and devotion will be held on the waterway ("the most beautiful view in the world")...as well as a friend and family gathering that will be planned in the near future... Our sincere thanks to the gentle, compassion of all those who have helped care for him... Most especially our dear friend, and loyal companion to both Mom and Dad for many years, Joyce Brown.
