Stephen O'Shea Obituary

Stephen Paul O'Shea CHARLESTON - Steve was born in West Lafayette, on 3/12/1955 the fifth child of Christopher and Margaret O'Shea. He grew up in Muncie, Indiana where he attended school from his elementary years through high school. Steve graduated from Muncie Central High School and attended Indiana University, Bloomington. He was an avid lover of life, people and the arts and was an athlete who enjoyed long distance running, basketball and sports. Steve also lived in Springfield, IL and St. Louis , MS before eventually spending 13 years in the Aspen, Colorado area where he fell in love with his beloved mountains. He spent the last 16 years in Charleston, SC where he made many friends and developed a true affection for the beauty of our waterways and sunsets. In recent months he found great comfort and met many new fellows in the Charleston area Recovery community. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher John O'Shea III and Margaret "Maggie" Mathilda Bushman O'Shea and two of his brothers, Kevin Michael O'Shea and Sean Gerard O'Shea, he is survived by his remaining siblings; Mary Elizabeth Redman - Indianapolis, IN, Christopher John O'Shea IV- Riverside, CA, James "Jay" Patrick O'Shea - Bloomington, IN, Timothy Francis O'Shea, Charleston,SC, Brian Matthew O'Shea , Charleston, SC, Mark Joseph O'Shea - Anderson, IN, Kathleen "Katie" Therese Herrmann - Centennial,CO and Julianna Louise Lee - Chicago, IL, their spouses and their many children and grandchildren who will all miss their always kind and gentle Uncle Steve. The local family of Steve, "Uncle Steve to many", invite you to join them at Sunrise Park this Saturday evening 6/7/2014 6 pm through sunset at 8:25, to celebrate Steve's life and enjoy the beauty of one of Steve's favorite places.
