Stephen Bartlett Obituary

Stephen Olmstead Bartlett FOLLY BEACH - Entered into eternal rest on the morning of January 9, 2011, Dr. Stephen Olmstead Bartlett, widower of Dana Sheppard Bartlett. Residence, Folly Beach, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Friday, January 14, 2011, at 10 a.m. Interment, 2 p.m., Beaufort National Cemetery. Friends may call at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel, Thursday, between 5 and 7 p.m. Dr. Bartlett was born December 11, 1924, in Framingham, MA, a son of the late Stephen Wyman Bartlett and the late Margaret Anne Phinney Bartlett. He was a retired Captain in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired professor for Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry, past president of the American College of Prosthodontists, past president of the South Carolina Association for Retarded Citizens, past president of the Exchange Club of Folly Beach and a member of the Charleston Board of Disabilities and Special Needs. He is survived by a daughter, Margaret B. "Peggy" Adams of Folly Beach; four sons, The Honorable Stephen S. Bartlett of Simpsonville, SC, Neil Alexander Bartlett of James Island, William Barton Bartlett of Charleston and Thomas Stuart Bartlett of Jakarta, Indonesia; a brother, John Bartlett of Massachusetts; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29407.
