Stella Duke Obituary

Stella Dupree Duke Goose Creek - Stella Dupree Duke, 90, of Goose Creek, SC, widow of William O. Duke, Sr., died Monday, January 18, 2016. Her funeral service will be held Friday, January 22, 2016 in the Peace Presbyterian Church, 174 Londonderry Road, Goose Creek at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road. Stella was born February 11, 1925 in Macedonia, SC, daughter of the late Redmond Dupree and the late Mary Emma Taylor Dupree. Stella was a teaching assistant for the Berkerley County School District, a member of Peace Presbyterian Church and an active community volunteer. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Zinkann (Paul) of Charlotte, NC and Debra Benoit (Joe) of Summerville, SC; son, William "Bill" O. Duke, Jr. (Allyson) of Summerville, SC; sisters, Ann Mitchum (A.C.) of North Charleston, SC and Marge Deal (B.F.) of Summerville, SC; grandchildren: Paul Zinkann III (Angie), Pamela Zinkann (Patti), Kristy Simmons (Kevin) and William "Will" Duke (Laura); great-grandchildren: Joey Zinkann, Michael Zinkann, Anna Zinkann and Reagan Simmons. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William O. Duke, Sr.; brothers, Sidney Dupree and Byron Dupree; and sister, Pat Johnson.
