Stanley Smith Obituary

Stanley L. Smith CHARLESTON - Stanley L. Smith entered into eternal rest on June 17, 2015. He was a devoted husband to Diana R. Smith for 59 years and leaves behind 6 sons, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. Smith served his country during the Korean War and worked as a longshoreman for many years. He enjoyed wood working, fishing and traveling. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Mr. Smith will surely be missed. I was the one who would ask for the Mustang back in the day. He would let Stanley, Timmy and myself cruise the night away in his Mustang. What a joy it was to go to the Smith home. I will definitely miss him.

I will always remember Mr. Smith. As teenagers, we spent so much time hanging out at the Smith's house it's a wonder he didn't run us all off. I am so sorry for your loss.
