Stanley Lakey Obituary

Stanley was born May 22, 1942, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, the first child of Lloyd and Oleta Lakey and he died September 19 at the VA Hospital in Walla Walla, Washington.
Stan joined the Marines at 17 and was a radioman/cryptologist. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his actions in Vietnam. He was also awarded many other medals.
Stan made sure that his siblings did not go hungry, as he sent money home after the death of his father in 1959. He was preceded in death by father Lloyd, mother Oleta and two brothers, Steven and Ted.
Stan is survived by his wife Josephine, children Patricia, Robert, Ron and Steve. He is survived by sister Betty Euteneier of Richland and Jim Lakey of Kennewick and many uncles, aunts and cousins. He has two young grandchildren, Chelsea and Duncan, as well as many adopted grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2005, at the Cathedral of Joy in Richland.
Memorials may be made to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center in his memory.

Stan was a kind and always optimistic brother who always did what was right by his family. He was a great brother.
