St. Davis Obituary

St. Clair Davis, Jr. MARION - St. Clair Davis, Jr., 69, of Marion, SC entered into eternal rest on February 28, 2010. He was born on September 26, 1940, the son of Christine Rogers Davis and the late St. Clair Davis. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia; his devoted mother, Christine; his sister, Diana Davis England of Charleston, SC; his niece, Christine Madren Milsap and her husband, Steven of Charlotte, NC; his nephew, Bryan Benson England, III and his wife, Abigail of Brunswick, GA; and his niece, Catherine Clair England of Columbia, SC. In his early years, St. Clair distinguished himself as an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Later, he attended the University of South Carolina. His spirit of adventure led him to become a commercial licensed pilot and flight instructor. In 1966, he entered the United States Navy. After serving he returned to his beloved home at Ella's Grove Plantation. St. Clair was perpetually curious. his recent interests included business news, sports and technology. A funeral service will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010. Burial will follow at Palmer Cemetery, directed by RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will follow the service at the Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, C/O James Allen Legette, Jr., 4217 S. Hwy. 41 A, Marion, SC 29571. Diana - don't know if you will remember me, it's been so long but I am Zena and Frazier Waldrop's daughter, Lillian. Nancy D. Nickles is my cousin and you and I use to have some fun times as children...just talked to Nancy and she told me about St. Clair. Just want you to know we have thought of you all often and I send love and prayers to you and your family.

Mimi,Diana, Christy, Catherine, Bryan, and Virginia: I am so sorry to hear about the passing of my good friend St. Clair. He and I shared many special times about 22 years ago in FL. We were neighbors, confidants, power walkers,and we laughed so hard sometimes that we almost cried! I think of him and all of you often and send much love, hugs & kisses.
