Dear Bob,
I was saddened to learn of Sophie's death. The two of you gave me a great gift during my time at Central Michigan University. I will always remember the time Maddi and I spent at your home for Passover.

Periodically , I used to search, in Internet, for Sophie, with no luck. Today I read of her decease. She was my professor and mentor, back in 1973, at CMU. I was her student from Santiago, Chile. I met you, David and Mark, when you were little. You, Bob, were my professor in Intelligence Testing. Sophie was such an influence in my personal and professional life, a person that I will keep in my
heart for ever. She has been my model for years and it will continue to be. I'm sorry I never had a chance to tell her so. To all of you, my deepest condolences. Maria Jacobs, (Gac), Santiago, Chile

Bob,
Much of my practice as a psychologist has Sophie-isms throughout it. I publically reference her, on average, on a monthly basis. She deeply impacted me during my time at CMU, and I regarded her as my one and only mentor. She impacted my personal and professional life deeply, and I will treasure not only my memories but the gift of a personal, hand-written note she sent me many, many years ago. I know many, many others feel the tremendous hole left by her loss but none as deeply as you and your sons. My deepest condolences.
