Sonyia Taylor Summerville - Sonyia Deanne Taylor, 81, of Summerville passed away Monday, February 7, 2022. The family and friends of Sonyia are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, February 11, 2022 at 11 o'clock at Boone Hill United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2022 from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Boone Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or memorials can be made to Boone Hill United Methodist Church, 801 Boone Hill Rd., Summerville, SC 29483. Sonyia was born on November 19, 1940 in Newnan, GA. She is the daughter of Fred and Ernestine Tumbleston. Sonyia was a lifelong member of Boone Hill United Methodist Church, and spent many days singing in the choir, being a girl scout troop leader, and also being the churches youth leader. After graduating from Summerville High School, she became an x-ray technician and then would spend several years working for Dorchester District 2 Transportation. During her later years, she was devoted to being a care taker to her parents and her husband's parents. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and bowling. Most importantly, Sonyia loved her family and was dedicated to their care. Sonyia is survived by her husband, Jimmie S. Taylor of Summerville, SC; son, James Taylor (Heather) of Summerville, SC; daughters, Kimberly Shenenberger (Donald) of Chesapeake, VA, Sharon Perry (Garry) of Summerville, SC; sister, Linda Brabham (Bill) of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Alex Shenenberger. Taylor Perry, Morgan Perry, Caroline Shenenberger, Hailey Taylor, Ainsley Taylor, and Alyssa Klim.
